There are powerful cards in your hand that you can use in the game of business. It is easy to feel lost in the noise, but I’d like to bring the focus back to motion designers: the work you do and how you do it. You already possess these cards for success. The challenge is remembering to play them. Let’s first talk about the board and how these cards fit a strategy.

My foundation in 3D motion design can be found in ink, colored pencils, chalk pastels, magazine collages, oil paint and acrylic paint. My 3D skills sprouted from 2D seedlings. This part of my history can help other 3D artists learn. Embracing 2D practices can inform 3D skills crucial to learning. 

Nature exists in ecosystems, people work in communities, and we artists find more success together than independently. We learn from each other and explore ideas together. Running an art or design business comes with hurdles to overcome and each business is unique.
